Description: Private Residence.
Location: Al-Harthiya Baghdad
Plot size: 600 m2
This is a rehab of and old 70's house to which we did a complete makeover, added a new living room and a completely new second floor. The facade is designed to protect the house from the cruel summer south sun as well as conceal the air conditioners which would have otherwise ruined the front elevation. The sunbreakers are also designed to protect from thieves so no ugly metal grills would be required on the front.
The exterior is totally cladded with white stone with a slight charge of polished porcelain around the entrance door. The strange shaped cover over the entrance was designed to house a disguised television dish. The was in Saddam's days when satellite reception was pohibited.
